Obama Pushes for American Colonic: Fights Against GOP Trickle Up Economic Policies
America needs a colonic to remove the toxic waste that lines the intestinal walls of our Democracy. An American Renaissance under President Obama will only begin when we can move on some fresh new ideas and not have them die in the bowels of our Democracy. In order to renew we must purify our system of the fraudulent gunk and intellectually dishonest policies that have led to decay of the integrity of our nation's culture. Obama is up against a powerful GOP that has hunkered down for a fight even as its back is up against the wall and the will of the American people aligned against them, having already given President Obama a mandate for change. The GOP needs to reinvent itself and sees defeating or humiliating Obama on a much needed economic stimulus as the way to do so. Obama needs our support.
The GOP and folks like McCain, McConnell & Co. are the defenders of what Paul Krugman has called The Madoff Economy and they are battling Obama to perpetuate it while posturing as conservatively trying to protect the average citizen. John McCain is not a voice of reason, he is merely another lunatic standing aboard the Titanic trying to maintain the status quo with life boats for his friends, pushing bad ideas at a time of national crisis, while the American ship is on the verge of sinking. The notion that we should continue to provide more tax breaks to the upper classes, and those who benefited the most in the new gilded age ushered in by Ronald Reagan, including the very people who have ripped
McCain's intellectual dishonesty is eclipsed only by his stubborn stupidity in making the same old tired arguments that he has memorized to sell the supply side myth that you can eliminate taxes on the upper classes, engage in unlimited miltary spending, cut investment in every sector of the economy that does not benefit one of his constituent groups, balance the budget, have record surplus and enough will trickle down to the little people and we will all be happy. This is the great lie of supply side economics and the American people rejected it by electing Barack Obama as our President and giving him a mandate for change. So, just who the hell is John McCain and why is he still selling this load of shit even as
Let me be clear, let us not demonize wealth creation but rather question policies that have resulted in excess wealth concentration. An increasing percentage of this country's wealth is in the hands of fewer and fewer people. The last time the disparity was this great was prior to the Great Depression. Unfortunately, fattening the bank accounts of hundreds and thousand of multi millionaires and billionaires will do far less than making sure millions have a few more thousand to pump into the economy to pay their bills and purchase necessities. John McCain blasted Obama with a degree of disrespect perhaps not recognizing fully that he already tried to make the sale for tax cuts for the wealthy and lost to Barack Obama in a veritable landslide. John McCain appears to have nothing left to offer in response to the stimulus package on the table being considered by the Senate but more empty rhetoric.
These same folks challenge any attempted investments in education, the arts, infrastructure, health care and energy as pork barrel spending. Government money funneled to a cross section of projects which benefit the middle and lower classes is labeled as pork while diverting the national treasury into the hands of a the privileged few is considered wise economic policy and an investment in our country's future.
Our society is on the verge of economic collapse not because privileged Americans have too little money and the rest of America is lazy but because we have been hoodwinked by the mainstream Corporate Media and the GOP that low taxes for the most affluent and eliminating regulation and oversight would liberate the entrepreneurial spirit, usher in a era of unbridled capitalism that would lead to unprecedented levels of prosperity for all. Instead we have created a Bernie Madoff culture that has destroyed the middle class and given some folks a lot more leisure time, bigger homes, cars and yachts and a level of income disparity unseen since the Great Depression.
