Since the death of the Patron Saint of the Republican Party, Ronald Reagan, who seized upon the legacy of Barry Goldwater and took it to the White House, a long line of GOP candidates at the national level have attempted unsuccessfully to present themselves as an heir to his mantle, including one retarded and completely delusional Neocon Puppet in Sarah Palin. Authenticity was missing. So here we are in early 2010 and an authentic, articulate, intelligent female entrepreneur, Tea Party candidate citizen Debra Medina, with her meteoric rise in the Texas gubernatorial race, has struck fear into establishment Republicans who have met her with steep resistance, despite presenting a Liberty based candidacy that Barry Goldwater himself would have embraced. In fact the Texas Conservative base has been shifting towards Medina.
Debra Medina is a direct descendant of the movement inspired by and that coalesced around the Liberty based candidacy of Ron Paul in 2008. While the Republican establishment very much tried to ignore, marginalize and undermine Ron Paul and his candidacy in the 2008 electoral cycle, they have subsequently decided to embrace it, infiltrate the movement he inspired with Neocon’s allowing them to attack, marginalize and undermine the movement, both its principals and principles that the movement was founded upon, as well as its key foot soldiers like Medina. The 'Barbarians at the Gate', in the form of GOP Establishment, are engaged in a hostile takeover or LBO hoping to turn the values of the movement on its head, seize the assets and get rid of the superfluous employees, like Medina and Paul.

Glenn Beck’s ambush,smear and outright sucker punch of Citizen Debra Medina’s gubernatorial candidacy last week illustrates that DC Insiders and the mainstream political establishment in both parties is hesitant about allowing the elevation to high office people outside the U.S. mainstream political apparatus, and will employ propagandists like the $50 Million Dollar Man, Benedict Beck, the Neocon's reincarnation of Joseph Goebbels. So what do they do? Much in the same way that the 9/11 Commission was frustrated by the Bush/Cheney Administration, at getting to the absolute truth about 9/11, establishment Republicans want to bottle up and package this Tea Party movement by engaging in a McCarthyite like witch hunt to demonize, slander and marginalize the stature of those who continue to raise the very same questions that members of the 9/11 Commission did. Similar tactics used to obfuscate the surfacing of truth being uncovered by the 9/11 Commission are now being employed to cleanse the Tea Party Movement of '9/11 Truthers' by applying a 9/11 Litmus Test to disqualify candidates who dare to question their government, despite the fact that polls have repeatedly shown that for most Americans, from all walks of life and professional backgrounds, including New Yorkers and not just those in the Tea Party movement, many unanswered questions remain about 9/11, despite ongoing efforts to silence the most potent and persuasive voices. So much for “Liberty” ay? It does not fit with GOP's rhetoric which has regularly labeled those in the 9/11 Truth Movement as leftist fringe radicals affiliated with Democrats when the movement in truth gets its legs more from Liberty movement and independent investigative journalists than from Democrats or liberals who live in fear of being labeled radical and risk being diminished by the mainstream media (see: The Left Gatekeeper's Phenomenon).
But they best beware, the backlash is coming even as the GOP and mainstream media allies attempt to suppress and spin it. It is already part of the public record that the co-chairs of the 9/11 Commission Tom Kean and Lee Hamilton who wrote a book entitled Without Precedent: The Inside Story of the 9/11 Commission, have also already gone on record in the New York Times that their investigation was stonewalled, the report is seriously flawed and that they did not get it all right because the CIA and the White House engaged in an Obstruction of Justice. The Senior Counsel to the 9/11 Commission, John Farmer, who led the 9/11 staff's inquiry, in his book The Ground Truth, has been quoted as saying that “the public had been seriously misled about what occurred during the morning of the attacks,” and further that "at some level of the government, at some point in time there was an agreement not to tell the truth about what happened."
So what’s the goal or the GOP’s end game? Absorb the brand of “dissent” represented by The Tea Party movement into the National GOP apparatus and then install their GOP establishment and Think Tank figureheads like Sarah Palin, Rick Perry et al etc., and in the process become perceived as the anti-establishment party in 2010 and 2012; fascinating, if it were not so unbelievable. In short, the choice is clear, does the Tea Party Movement choose to compromise its core values and allow the strength of its Liberty message to become diluted, their agenda curtailed in exchange for a seat at the table with establishment GOP? Would Paul Revere have abandoned his midnight ride and refrained from advising his fellow citizens that "the British are coming", if he had received a telegram advising him that he would be given a lucrative contract on Fox News once a Monarchy was installed to oversee the burgeoning new world and hold back the restless in the colonies? One would hope that they would react more like John Paul Jones and say, "I have not yet begun to fight."
